Cold water immersion
The Cold, Done Right
Using Your Tub

Set Up & Use

Practical guidance.
Not medical advice.

Cold water immersion is simple, but a few basics make it more comfortable. The notes below cover how to set up and use your tub — temperature, timing and care. They are general usage guidance, not health or medical claims.

01
Water Temperature
Most people run cold plunge water somewhere between 10°C and 15°C. Add ice to reach the temperature you prefer, or set it on the chiller unit (chiller models). There is no single "correct" temperature — start warmer and adjust to what suits you.
02
Session Length
If you are new to cold water, keep early sessions short and get out whenever you want to. You can adjust duration over time as you get used to the temperature. Listen to your body rather than a stopwatch.
03
Entry & Exit
Use the included step to get in and out steadily — inflatable step cushions on the portable tubs, a cedar step on the barrel models. Surfaces around a filled tub can be wet, so lower yourself in gradually rather than jumping.
04
Water Care
Drain the tub when changing the water, and keep it covered between uses — see each product page for which cover is included. How often you change the water depends on use and whether you treat it — refresh it before it looks or smells off.

Before you start Cold water immersion isn't suitable for everyone. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or have any medical concern, speak to a doctor first. Don't use the tub alone if you are new to cold water, and never under the influence of alcohol.
The Process

How It Works

Four steps from delivery
to your first plunge.
01
Step 01
Set Up & Fill
Place the tub on a firm, level surface that can take the filled weight. Inflate portable tubs to the recommended 8–12 psi, then fill with cold water using a garden hose.
Tip
Leave room near the rim so the water doesn't overflow when you get in.
02
Step 02
Cool the Water
On passive tubs, add ice to bring the water down to the temperature you want. On chiller models, set the temperature on the chiller unit instead of adding ice.
Range
Many people run cold plunge water around 10–15°C. Adjust to what suits you.
03
Step 03
Step In
Use the included step — inflatable cushions on portable tubs, a cedar step on barrel models — to lower yourself in steadily. Enter gradually rather than jumping, and get out whenever you want to.
Safety
If you're new to cold water, don't plunge alone. Speak to a doctor first if you have any medical concern.
04
Step 04
Drain or Cover
Empty the tub when you change the water — drain hose on portable models, drain valve on barrels — or cover it between sessions to keep it clean.
Care
Refresh the water before it looks or smells off — how often depends on use and any treatment you add.

5–10cm Walls
Drop-Stitch Construction
The portable tubs use drop-stitch (DWF) walls — thousands of internal threads that hold a rigid shape at 8–12 psi. No frame to assemble, no soft bulging sides.
01
Portable
Packs Into A Bag
Deflated, the portable tubs pack down to carry-bag size — small enough to store in a cupboard or take with you. Set-up needs a pump and a hose, nothing else.
02
By Model
Chiller-Ready
Selected models carry integrated water in/out ports for connecting a chiller; the flagship ships with the chiller included. Passive models cool with ice. Each product page states which.
03
Barrel Models
Solid Cedar Construction
The barrel tubs are built from red cedar panelling with stainless banding — rigid, freestanding, made to stay where you put them.
04
304 Stainless
Stainless Steel Liner
On the cedar models, water sits inside a 304 stainless steel inner liner — not against the wood — with a drain valve to empty the tub after use.
05
Included
Covers & Steps
Insulated covers and entry steps ship with the tubs — inflatable cushions on portable models, cedar steps on barrels. Each product page lists exactly what's in the box.
